Viral Pic: Is This Amitabh Bachchan In The Portrait? Here’s The Truth...
Yesterday, a picture went viral on social media suggesting it to be Amitabh Bachchan’s look from Thugs Of Hindostan. However, there’s more to it...
Social media is a platform which can create awareness and
at the same time create delusions as well. Amitabh Bachchan and his fans were
the recent victims to the latter.
Last evening, a picture of a man dressed in rags, head
covered with a long pagdi and spectacles worn over it, standing in a deserted
place went viral. And the story which went viral along with it was that the
picture is Big B’s and the look is for his upcoming film, Thugs Of Hindostan.
However, there is no truth to it. The picture is in fact
a stunning work of a spectacular photographer, Steve McCurry. It is a stunning
portrait of an Afghan refugee, which was originally shared by the photographer
on his Instagram account on January 27, 2017. He had also captioned the image
as, “I made this portrait of Shabuz, age 68, an Afghan refugee in Pakistan.
Many Afghans use only one name.”
Talking about Mr Bachchan’s health, which made headlines
a day back, a team of doctors flew down to Jodhpur after he complained of some
issues. However, he is much better now, confirmed by his Thugs Of Hindostan
co-star Aamir Khan as well. Big B has also resumed work in Jodhpur.

Helmed by Vijay Krishna
Acharya, Thugs of Hindostan is based on Philip Meadows Taylor’s 1839 novel
Confessions of a Thug, which also stars Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh in
pivotal roles.
And coming to the viral picture, well, unfortunately this
is not Big B’s look from the film. Fans will have to wait a little longer to
know how exactly the megastar looks in it.
